Why Blog? Notes

Summary:

The whole summary of the this article is about how blogging can help college students develop their college writing skills. In the past, students were given writing assignments and some of those students didn’t have the motivation or the desire to write those assignments because the topic probably didn’t interest them. Also, when students are confronted with assignments, they are stuck in the mindset of “What I need to do to get an A?” Blogging gives the students the opportunity for exploring motivation of writing. When it comes to blogging people find it easier to translate the motivation into our academic writing because blogging will help you uncover something that matters to you.

Reflection:

My reflection on this article is that I can relate due to the fact that there have been times I’ve had writing assignments that I wasn’t motivated to write about because the topic wasn’t interesting to me. Starting up a blog made me realize there are so many topics that fit my interest that I can blog about. Another reason why is that blogging unconditionally gave me motivation to blog about my interest, which was helping me improve my writing skills. Also, if you continue to blog then the more you are continuing to practice on your writing skills and wont even know that you becoming a better writer. The reason why is because blogging is a fun way to talk about your interest and practice your writing skills.

Commentary:

A few comments I wanted to say about this article that I’ve noticed while reading is whenever you are blogging. You can go to other people blogs that is sharing the same topic as you and see their point of view. I like that because it can give you an idea on what to say or how you to approach on your topic. Add on to that, I like how other people can comment on your blog and its good because it can give you feedback which can help you becoming a better writer and what you need to fix. Plus, its also nice to see people liking your blog because it shows that people like what topic you are talking about and shows that people share the same interest as you. Following to that is that you can build your audience. By doing that you can blog about other bloggers that share the same interest as you and has followers. I think its a good way to be known out there and try to to get a bigger audience.
